EDUC 307, 308 and 309 (Elementary) or EDUC312/313 (Secondary) must be taken together in the Spring term, usually in the student’s Junior year. This group of courses and accompanying fieldwork is called the “internship” and are only open to students who have been accepted into the Licensure Program (See Department for criteria). During the internship, students become what are called teaching candidates. Teacher candidates are required to be in a classroom two full days a week, at our partnership school or the classroom in which they teach as resident/licensure only candidate. (Courses only offered in Spring Semester)

EDUC410 (Elementary) (or) EDUC420 (Secondary) must be taken with EDUC440 and EDUC450 (3-week) in the Fall term, usually in the student’s Senior year. This group of courses and accompanying fieldwork is the Student Teaching semester. To enroll in Student Teaching, candidates must have successfully completed the internship courses. During Student Teaching, candidates are required to be in the public school classroom five full days a week at our partnership school or the approved classroom in which they teach as a resident/licensure only candidate. (Courses only offered in the Fall Semester)
